Hands-on tutoring, online, in your home.

Online tutoring is very effective in conjunction with hands-on work materials. This individual work is produced and emailed by the tutor, and then printed by parents. Children are busy with their hands and on-task at home during tutoring sessions. The child is also stimulated through the screen with the use of as many Montessori materials as possible.

You are most welcome to sit next to your child during the tutoring.

Children are able, because they think they are able.

This year, many children returned to Børn Tutoring for Term 4 and - despite the best efforts of parents and guardians at home - found that they could not read, write and manage mathematics as perhaps they once could. And, as children do, they blame themselves. This affects confidence, an interest in learning, and social and emotional development.

Seize the opportunity to catch up, practice and understand important concepts, so that you can again entrust the responsibility of learning with your child.

Through a hands-on on-line tutoring approach many milestones for distance learning have been reached.

  • Over a term, children have learnt the phonetic letter sounds and progressed to reading.

  • Bilingual siblings practiced English through reading, writing and activities.

  • Many children kept their enthusiasm for learning, improved their reading levels, practiced handwriting and letter formation and widened their knowledge through cultural studies.

We have really appreciated all the wonderful help you have given us. Avery has grown and extended beyond his abilities with your excellent teaching. He has benefited greatly from your support particularly during a challenging time with Covid-19 disrupting his learning last year.

For a new student, the procedure is as follows:

  1. Please make contact for an Information Booklet and Application Form to be forwarded to you

  2. Upon receipt of the Application Form, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time for an online Introductory Session.

  3. The Introductory Session can take place on either FaceTime or Zoom.

    • During this session, your child’s individual tutoring is discussed. What you would like the focus to be, and what your child’s needs and interest are. You may like to provide school reports or other specialists’ reports.

  4. The Tutoring commences

Most children attend twice per week. Evening sessions and weekend sessions are also available.
