Young children often blame themselves when something goes wrong, or they are not able to do something. Typically it is as simple as someone showing them, then practicing - and soon they are on their way.
You can give your child this opportunity through the Catch-Up Packs.
The Packs
In consultation with you, these packs are tailored to commence exactly where your child is at. The literacy and numeracy catch-up packs below are specifically suited to online sessions, however in-person sessions are also available. Please contact us if you would like more information.
CATCH-UP PACK I | Literacy
40 minutes x 5 online sessions | $325
This pack focuses on reading, hand writing and spelling.
Your child will hear and practice the individual sounds from which words are made up, including learning or consolidating digraphs. Your child will also practice the formation of letters, following the correct entry and exit points, so important in preparation for future joint handwriting.
Your child will progress at his or her own pace, and the content of each session is based on reflections of the prior.
Attachments will be forwarded to you for printing before each session, together with your Zoom link.
These worksheets are clear, attractive and fun to engage with, and the teacher has the same printouts at her side of the screen.
The tutoring is made particularly engaging through the use of Montessori equipment.
CATCH-UP PACK II | Numeracy
40 minutes x 5 online sessions | $325
This pack focuses on reading and writing numerals.
Depending on where your child is at, they will also practice reading and writing numbers of up to four digits, and the four operations: addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.
Through activities, your child will gain a mathematical overview, which benefits a sequential understanding of various mathematical concepts e.g. exchanging.
A better understanding of the decimal system and the four hierarchies, also avoids common mistakes and confusions such as ‘fourteen’/ ‘forty’.
Your child will progress at his or her own pace, and the content of each session is based on reflections of the prior.
